Playoff Rules
  • Each game will begin on a clean sheet of ice

  • There will be an ice cut after the first period

  • There will be an ice cut after the second period

  • If the game is tied after three periods of regulation play, there will be a 3-minute rest before the start of overtime. There will be no more than four 7:30 overtime periods. There will be no resurface before overtime and teams do not switch ends.

  • If the game is still tied after the first overtime, there will be another 3-minute rest before the start of the second overtime. Teams will not change ends for the second overtime.

  • If the game is still tied after the second overtime, the ice will be resurfaced and teams will change ends for the third overtime.

  • If the game is still tied after the third overtime, there will be another 3-minute rest before the start of the fourth overtime. Teams will not change ends for the fourth overtime.

  • If the game is still tied after the fourth overtime, a shootdown will take place. A coin flip will determine which team shoots first. Each team will designate three shooters to participate. If the game is still tied after the first group of shooters, a different group of three shooters from each team will go. If still tied after the second group, a third group of three shooters from each team will go. If still tied after the third group, each team can send any three shooters (they can reuse shooters) for the next round.

  • Goalies may be substituted in between each group of three shooters, but not during. Goaltenders who have been injured can be replaced at any time during the shootdown.
